چکیده

Abstract The crystal chemistry and structure of the rare earth element phosphates, monazite-(Ce), Ce(PO 4 ), xenotime-(Y), Y(PO as well arsenates, gasparite-(Ce), Ce(AsO chernovite-(Y), Y(AsO from hydrothermal quartz-bearing fissures, related to pegmatites overprinted by amphibolite facies, cropping out at Mt. Cervandone, Western Alps, Piedmont, Italy, have been investigated means electron microprobe analysis in wavelength dispersion mode single-crystal X-ray diffraction. chemical data reveal occurrence a full solid solution among isostructural chernovite-(Y) xenotime-(Y) with tetragonal symmetry, whereas wide miscibility gap is observed for gasparite-(Ce) monazite-(Ce) monoclinic symmetry. A significant heterogeneity has several samples, especially Th content, which locally enriched ThSiO grains. refined structural models demonstrates control played composition tetrahedrally-coordinated (As,P)-bearing sites on bulk unit-cell volume, size shape (REE)-coordination polyhedra.

A Model for the Schottky Anomaly in Metallic N D 2−y Ce Y Cuo 4

We present a simple model for the doped compound Nd2−yCeyCuO4, in order to explain some recent experimental results on the latter. Within a Hartree-Fock context, we start from an impurity Anderson-like model and consider the magnetic splitting of the Nd-4f ground state Kramers doublet due to exchange interactions with the ordered Cu moments. Our results are in very good agreement with the exper...

Scintillation properties and anomalous Ce(3+) emission of Cs(2)NaREBr(6):Ce(3+) (RE = La,Y,Lu).

We report the optical and scintillation properties of the Ce(3+)-doped bromoelpasolites Cs(2)NaREBr(6) (RE = La,Y,Lu). The γ-ray scintillation light yield of these materials varies from 6000 to 17 000 photons per MeV absorbed γ-ray energy. At room temperature (RT), the γ-ray scintillation decay curves for all compounds show a fast component of 61 ns, whereas the intrinsic Ce(3+) decay time is 3...

Diagnosis of REE Elements (La, Ce, Sc, and Y) in the Surface Sediment of the Persian Gulf

The distribution of some rare earth elements (La, Ce, Sc, and Y) in the sediment samples, collected form 56 stations in the offshore of the Persian Gulf during the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman Oceanographic Cruise (PGGOOS) in 2012, was studied. The elements were determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). The result revealed that the concentration of Ce (82 µg g-1) was...
